For years, cosmetic surgeons have been transferring fat from one part of a person’s body to another. Don’t believe us? Look no further than the popularity of liposuction throughout the world. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that fat transfer is now being used to complete breast augmentation surgery.
According to an article by KTLA-TV, some Los Angeles surgeons have begun using a breast augmentation technique that incorporates liposuction. They call the procedure “up a cup,” and even compare this form of breast enhancement to recycling. Funny names and descriptions aside, we have a feeling this procedure will be a major hit and revolutionize cosmetic surgery as we know it. If you gave women the option of getting firmer, fuller breasts with the added benefit of achieving a slimmer body, they would jump for joy. As would the guy in their life.
From a surgeon’s perspective, we like the concept as well. Not only does it kill two birds with one stone, but the patient does not have to worry about replacing breast implants later on in life. In a few years, it would not surprise us to see the vast majority of patients requesting this form of breast enhancement.
