Tips for Maintaining Houston Breast Lift Results

A Houston breast lift can help you get perkier breasts.

Sagging breasts can be a source of self-consciousness for many women, which is why more and more people are looking at options for keeping breasts perky and youthful. A Houston breast lift, also known as mastopexy, may help improve breast sagging. As you research breast lifts, you might wonder what to expect, like how long results will last. This is individualized to each patient. However, there may be some things you can do to help maintain your results.

How Long Does a Houston Breast Lift Last?

One thing to understand is that no cosmetic surgery is permanent. Even after breast surgery, your breasts may change over time due to gravity, age, and a wide variety of other factors.

How long breast lift results will last depends on many different things, for example:

  • Age
  • Genetics
  • Health
  • Diet
  • Weight
  • Breast size

The difficulty with giving a “lifespan” for breast lift results is that everyone’s body is unique. So, just like your recovery might be different from another woman’s, your results may differ as well.

Generally speaking, most patients notice results from the Houston breast lift procedure immediately after surgery. Results typically continue to improve as swelling goes down and as you heal after the surgery. After you’re fully healed, results can last anywhere from a few years to sometimes more than 10 or 15 years. Once again, it really depends on many different factors. So, it’s important to discuss the details of your individual situation with your Houston cosmetic surgeon during your consultation.

Tips that May Help Maintain Your Lift Results

Now, there are a lot of factors that affect your breast lift results that you can’t control, like your age and genetics. However, there are some things you can do that may help you maintain your breast lift results

One of the first is to maintain your weight with a healthy diet and exercise. Weight fluctuations, whether weight gain or weight loss can all affect your breasts and encourage sagging, even after a lift procedure. Therefore, it’s generally it’s a good idea to wait to get cosmetic breast surgery until you’ve reached and maintained your target weight and are done having children. This may help you protect your results.

Also, while we can’t stop gravity, there are some things you can do to help counteract its effects on your breasts after a lift. Wearing a supportive bra may help reduce sagging that can interfere with your mastopexy results. A supportive and well-fitting bra can be especially important while exercising to help reduce the effects of movement and impact while running, jumping, and other activities.

In addition, doing everything you can to take care of your skin may also help. Skin elasticity may play a role in breast sagging. How elastic your skin is also depends on many factors, some of which are out of your control, like genetics. However, staying hydrated, reducing sun exposure for the skin around your breasts, and making sure you get plenty of vitamins, including vitamin E and C may all help improve your skin and may also help you improve how long your breast lift results last.
