Photo Facial Rejuvenation – Look Younger Fast
What Is Photo Facial Rejuvenation?
It is a series of intense Pulsed Light treatments that improve the appearance of Rosacea, flushing, broken capillaries, sun damaged skin, age spots, skin texture and photo aging.
The facial treatments also improve mild acne scars, reduces large pores, corrects dark circles around the eyes and reduces fine lines to help you look younger.
Photofacial treatments are especially effective for improving the appearance of the face, neck, chest and hands. This exciting treatment involves little or no “down time”. You can resume normal activities immediately.
An intense light is applied by our Houston cosmetic surgeon in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area. Without damaging the skin, the light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation. The heat causes damage to the vessel or lesion and the body begins its natural healing process. The lesion will darken before it flakes off or the body absorbs it.
Treatment can be given as frequently as every three weeks. A series of 3 – 5 treatments are recommended.

What Is Intense Pulse Light
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is a photorejuvenation technique that is non-ablative. The treatments correct signs of photo-aging, birthmarks, facial skin imperfections, unsightly small veins. It is a safe, non-invasive solution providing superior results and an effective option instead of surgery.
How Is Photorejuvenation Performed?
Each treatment takes about twenty minutes to perform. A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated; you will be given dark glasses to wear during the procedure and asked to close your eyes during treatment to protect your eyes from the bright light. Pulses of light are applied to your skin. You may feel a sting like that of a rubberband.
How Many Treatments are Needed?
Generally 4 to 6 sessions are needed. Each session in our Houston office is about 20 minutes. The number of conditions and the severity of the conditions determine the number of treatments that would be necessary.
You can return to work and your normal activities as soon as the treatment is finished. Makeup and sunblock can be applied immediately following the treatment. Gradual improvement is accomplished by dividing the treatments into several sessions. The IPL technology provides the only “all-in-one” treatment to improve texture and complexion.
The same treatment can be used effectively on the neck, chest, arms and hands.
